What we review

Three areas where independent pharmacies most often lose money.

Module A

Audit exposure

A desk review of a sample of your claims against public plan and private insurer requirements.

  • Prescription, quantity and days’ supply
  • Refill and interchangeability rules
  • Documentation for services billed
  • How audit letters are handled today

Module B

Missed service revenue

What you could bill for professional services, compared with what you actually billed.

  • Minor ailments, vaccines, medication reviews
  • Rejected or never-submitted claims
  • Pharmacist and technician time
  • Readiness for the next scope expansion

Module C

Operating numbers

A baseline of the numbers that drive profit, most of which owners don’t see monthly.

  • Margin per prescription and payer mix
  • Labour cost per prescription
  • Inventory turns and dead stock
  • Purchasing terms

What you receive

A plan you can act on the following week.

  • A Profit & Risk Scorecard with the total dollars at stake
  • Findings ranked by dollar impact and effort
  • A 90-day action plan with an owner and deadline for each action
  • A 60-minute readout with you and your manager
  • A one-page KPI baseline to track progress

How it works

  1. Before week 1

    Kickoff and data request

Written agreement, a 45-minute kickoff and a short list of standard reports from your dispensing system.

  2. Week 1

    Operating baseline

We build your KPI baseline and select the claim sample.

  3. Week 2

    Claims and services review

Mock audit of the sample and the service billing gap analysis, with a short check-in so there are no surprises.

  4. Week 3

    Readout and plan

Findings, dollars and your 90-day plan, presented and delivered the same day.

After the review

Execute the plan with your team, or with us beside you.

The plan stands on its own. If you want help, each option is scoped in a separate written proposal.

Your team runs it

You take the plan and KPI baseline and execute internally. We’re available for a follow-up check at 90 days.

90-day implementation

We work alongside your manager on the top actions: claims fixes, service workflows, purchasing and scheduling changes.

Ongoing performance support

A monthly scorecard, claims checks and an owner call to keep the numbers moving after the first 90 days.

Good fit

Owner-operators who want numbers, not opinions

  • 1 to 20 independent or bannered locations
  • Added minor ailments and vaccines, but unsure what is billed
  • Received an audit letter, or want to be ready for one
  • Recently bought a pharmacy, or planning to sell in the next few years

How we handle your data

Minimum data, written agreement

Your review is overseen by Malay Panchal, who ran pharmacies as an owner-operator for 10 years. We work under a written confidentiality and data-handling agreement, request de-identified reports wherever the analysis allows, and never ask you to send patient information by email or web form. Details are confirmed in your proposal.

Running a clinic? The same approach is available as a Practice Operations Review.

Questions

About the review

Should I take the free check first?

It helps. Your check results show which modules matter most for you, so the conversation starts from your answers.

My banner already supports us. Is this different?

Banners focus mostly on buying and marketing. This review measures your own claims, service billing and operating numbers, and gives you a plan for them. It can sit alongside your banner programs.

Is this legal advice or audit representation?

No. The review identifies risk and opportunity. If you are in an active audit, we’ll suggest speaking with your legal or professional advisers first.

What does it cost?

The fee is fixed and set out in a written proposal after a short fit conversation, before any work begins.
